I like to keep things simple. Please don’t make this harder than it needs to be. Here’s my goal for these projects…
To provide useful step-by-step guides in a format simple enough for a 5th grader to navigate and comprehend.
That’s it. It HAS to be easy for the reader to understand and in a vocabulary that a 5th grader can comprehend. The perfect example is WikiHow.com. Take a look at their site and some of their tutorials. That’s what I want.
“…Step 1: Do This”, followed by an instructional picture that illustrates each step and below the picture a description of how to complete the step.
How to Document Your Project
Create your project in a Microsoft Word (or Open Office) document using the format I explained above. Include the images in the Word document so we know where to insert each image after you submit everything.
At the end of your Word document, include a brief “Author Bio” about yourself. Feel free to include one link either to your website or blog or to one of your social media profiles.
How to Submit Your Project
Once you’re happy with what you have, submit your project to us. Pay close attention here.
You need to make sure you submit not only your Word document but ALL of your images as well. The easiest way to do this is to keep a folder on your computer for each project you create and include all of your images and your Word document for each project inside this folder.
Then when it comes time to submit it to us, you can select all the files in that folder and drag and drop them in our file uploader.
If you have any questions about any of this, please email us at [email protected].
