This is our youngest son Kevin (the groom) helping his mom to her seat.  We were both a lot happier than we look in the photo but it was a very emotional moment for us.  The night before the wedding they held rehearsal in our front yard, then instead of a formal dinner we had a big picnic with friends and family and members of the wedding party.  After dinner Kevin and Gracie took time to thank their parents and everybody in the wedding party.  They bought us all gifts and had us all in tears.  They also told us during rehearsal that during the ceremony they wanted to address and thank their parents.    They are great kids, it was very nice, but very emotional for us.

Kevin awaits the arrival of his bride.

Gracie wanted an outdoor wedding on the shore of beautiful Lake Erie.  It was a beautiful day.  A little windy, but by wedding time the wind died down and the lake was beautiful.

These are our grandsons, Aydan Michael on the left and Weston Oliver on the right.  They also have a little brother, Gavin Quinn who is only 5 months old.  But let me tell you, that baby had a blast at the wedding.  He got passed around like a football, but at 11:00 pm he was still all smiles.   Kevin and Gracie have a ton of friends from their respective colleges and many of them were at the wedding and reception.   Aydan and Weston danced with them all.  They had a blast!

Aydan takes a break before the wedding to take in a view of Lake Erie.  He was the ring bearer.  He had a little problem keeping that shirt tucked in.

Our daughter-in-law Lorelei and Weston watching the wedding ceremony.

Kevin’s brother Duston was one of the groomsmen.  He’s the oldest of our two son’s and the father of our three grandchildren.  He’s also the guy behind the scenes that built this blog, he shoots and edits the videos and does a ton of other things that nobody really notices to keep this all running smoothly.  If you buy my Backyard Growing System you will see both Duston and Kevin in the Backyard Nursery Videos.  Kevin was about five or six years old and Duston ten or eleven years old as they make cuttings and pot up plants.  When you see me on camera, chances are it was Duston behind the camera at eleven years old!  When he got married Kevin took over the video taping for me.  It’s was a family business then and still is today.  If you have any of our products they were probably boxed up and shipped by Pam’s sister Debbie.

Aydan taking this Ring Bearer job very seriously.  But during the ceremony he got bored and started twirling that pillow around by the strings.  I thought it was going to end up in the lake!

Gracie walking down the isle with her father.  He was very proud and has good reason to be proud.  Gracie is a wonderful person, who works hard and stays focused on whatever she is doing.  Gracie graduated from Miami University of Ohio in May, Kevin will graduate from the University of Cincinnati in June of 2011.  These two have the most wonderful and loyal group of friends you could ask for.  We are all very proud of them both.

Aydan’s bored.

Kevin and Gracie performed a sand ceremony.  Much like sand art.  But what made this unique is that Gracie’s family has been vacationing in Cape Hatteras in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for many years and Kevin has gone with them several times.  For this ceremony a friend brought them a vial of sand from Cape Hatteras for this ceremony, which really made it special to them.   These two have been together for ten years!  But Gracie started calling our house long before that.  At least that’s what I tease her about.

Words cannot describe moments like these.

Children are a blessing from the day they are born. It is such a wonder and privileged to watch them grow up, marry and then have families of their own. You both should be so proud of your beautiful family. You have been truly blessed in many ways. The pictures are great and I am sure a good time was had by all.

Quite nice to be included in all the festivities of such a special occasion. We wish them God’s
blessings as they go forward. As others have commented on earlier the ” joining of the grains of sand” is a special tribute to you and what your family is all about. This was a very unique feature that really got my attention. Really a beautiful wedding. Thanks for sharring!
I recently really enjoyed the articles about pruning Hydrangers and the Burning Bush. I had just begun working on both of mine and it was so comforting for you to say, “cut away you cannot hurt them” Please keep up the good work. I look forward to the new one.

Thank you, Mike and Pam, for sharing your family’s joy with us. I have 4 daughters and 6 grandchildren and they provide daily blessings for my husband and me. I know it is not “luck” that you have such devoted children, but obviously good raising! They have been given a great example to follow. I wish you and your family many, many years of love and happiness.
