Thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us and I really enjoy your humor in your writing and videos.
The best to you and your family.

Hi,
I would love to enter my name too if you have no objection at all. I love to win because I am single woman and keener gardener. This will help me in my backyard and at the same time it will remind me of your gift which I will be using during spring and summer. It will make my task easy and in return will help to grow more food and share with poor and needy people in our community. Because of problems with my hands and due to old age it will be very useful for me.
Thanks
almas nathoo

What a blessing a tiller would be. I grew up on a farm in the midwest and always helped with the large garden. Now with limited abilities I’m still trying to grow things but unfortunately not able to do much with the soil. A tiller would be much appreciated.
Laura Z. says
My soil is really hard. I bought an extra heavy weight shovel and that helps with the digging, but even thinking about it makes my lower back hurt, LOL. I had to use an electric auger to dig holes for the fruit tree planting. So the Mantis tiller would be a blessing! Thanks, Mike, for all your wonderful advice and inspiration,
Gina Osterloth says
We have a non profit community garden and we give all the produce to the low income and homeless in our area. This would be a miracle sent from God! Thank you for making the opportunity possible

Yes!!!! Please let me win this tiller!?! I have wanted one of these ever since I bought a house in 2008 that has 5 acres. I’ve received Mantis flyers, and inquired about them and received more information. It comes down to the price I just cannot afford. You are awesome for all of your free giveaways, and have some very dedicated followers learning all of your great tips, that you can’t find anywhere else. This tiller would give me the muscle that I really need to be able to landscape and create my gardens the way they should be done. I’m a single mom, just one income to spread out on a tight budget. Yet I have these crazy garden dreams that don’t stop, except where I don’t have the muscle or the $$. Mike, you are the best!

Margie Willis says
Dear Mr. Mike,
I would like to briefly tell you about my husband who I know would love a small tiller. He is 65 this year I am 57. We have been married for 37 years. We started our first garden the first year we were married. It was under the eaves of the place we were renting. We could only grow some lettuce and radishes but they were a start. We added some pots out front for flowers. Within a few years we had our own place with a nice size garden. One of the people in our church allowed us to borrow her rototiller and it was a great help.
We have moved across the mountains and it is rainier than the east side of the state. We bought a large tiller and used it well. Now it is starting to fail. My husband has had it in for repairs and they told us the tiller is out of business and no parts can be had for it. My told me that he will keep working with it until it can no longer be used. He mentioned that it is getting to the point that he is not sure how much longer HE can keep going with the tiller – it is a rear tiller and very heavy.
He would like to retire when he is 66 but may have to wait till 70 since we have plans to expand our backyard from grandchildren’s toys to a raised garden area. The MANTIS sounds very workable. I cannot use it myself. I have to use a cane when walking. My husband does the gardening and I help by planning things out for him and watch him. We enjoy being with each other no matter what we are doing.
Thank you,
Margie

Hi Mike…..I have loved to garden most of my life (now 74) and have grown my own vegetables and have propagated Azaleas., Rhododendrons. Geraniums, and even Avocado Plants (I have one now that is over 10 feet tall). I am no longer able to work with a spade or hoe due to 5 degenerative discs in my lumbar spine and would really love to win so I can get back to tilling my gardens and growing my veggies and preparing my beds. I really enjoy reading your emails and have gained much knowledge from them; Thank you Mike for all that you do for us.

Mike, it seems i used to be able to access the newsletter and your giv aways without going on facebook or having a plugin. I am not a fan of facebook even though I have a fb page. I am a computer dummy and dont know what a plug in is (grass to stick in the ground?) No, really I dont and I cant aford it if there is a fee. What else can I do? I just received my books. Read the small one, working on the other. I like your plain explainatios.
Thanks so much, Barbara
Mike says
Barbara,
The contest is a social media event, that’s the only reason that we are doing it, to draw attention to the website. As far as the newsletter and all of my other content, anybody can access that right on the web. Of course the members area is only open to members.
Phil says
Personally I love to sink my shovel into the soil & turn it over. I’m 71 & retired & still like to do my garden that way. As far as the Mantis tiller is concerned, it’s a great little machine. I had one. I used it sometimes. But mostly it sits in the shed & I still use my shovel.
As far as GIVING something away for gift. I’ll bet 3 out of 4 people on here would rather WIN a MISTING SYSTEM instead of a mantis tiller.
I mean…. how often will you use the tiller in a years time ?????
BUT….. a misting system will be used almost CONSTANTLY year ’round.
Now that is worth winning & having.
Have fun with your new tiller…… whoever the winner is.
Kenneth Drinkwater says
Sure could use one.
A.J. BAHAM says
It would be great if I could win this tiller. Money is tight and I can not afford to purchase one for my garden.

Roads are covered with alot of snow and ice and while going up a hill she hit black ice on a bridge over a river, kept spinning around finally hit a gaurd rail that kept her out of the river but totaled her truck! The Cops said she wasn’t the first wreck there this A.M.He got on the radio and yelled at the ID.T.A. that should have had that sanded..
She is beat up some but feels worse for her truck and no transportation! Some times that happens when you try to help a friend.( I’m not adding this on to get a Mantis however.)

not qualify, Retired from law enforcement doesn’t leave one with a grand amount of
finances but I’m very blessed to have it. I’ve tried twice to go through with the membership but got cold feet and backed away. Mike, being the find man that he is,
keeps me updated on the backyard growers information and growing tips and
knowledge for planting by way of emails. THANK YOU MIKE ! Maybe some day soon I’ll be able to go through with my membership. I’m still young at 71 and still
blessed with good health. Thank you Mike for allowing me to share with you and
especially for all the great amount of knowledge that you’ve sent my way.
Mike says
Joe,
I appreciate your support and this contest has nothing to do with membership. Everybody that enters is eligible to win.
Jacki says
I have been wanting one for a long time, but when a 74 year old lady is still working to stay ahead of bills, it’s only something to dream and hope for.
Social Security covers my house payment and insurance, so I work to keep up with everything else and buy food.
I’m sure a Mantis Tiller would make my gardening easier and not so physically difficult.
Thank you for being so generous and offering.

My husband and I are in our late 70’s, and love fresh fruits and veggies. We had a garden plot last year, which we won’t have this year, and want to start a garden here at home. At our age, it is hard to have to do everything “by hand”, and there has been no garden here previously, which means starting from scratch, an this tiller would be so helpful for our starting all over again. Love your articles, Mike, have made copies of many of them, putting together a notebook of my favorite articles. Thanks for being there for us.

I had one early mode, but it got away from me. My Mom used hers to garden long after she had to walk with a cane. If you have high raised beds of any size, and need to till in compost or prepare for planting, these cannot be beat — they’re likely to add a couple decades to your gardening ability. When Mike talks about how handy his is, he’s telling it straight.

Boy would I LOVE to have this little tiller! I have health issues that no longer allow using a hoe or spade so this would be the bees knees for me. Tina Tillman says
I bought a well used mini tiller a few years ago, but the engine gave up. My husband, who doesn’t garden or help with mine, put a heavy electric motor on the frame. Now its too heavy for me to use, and the cord dragging along with it makes it useless for me. I really would love a Mantis Tiller!
David D says
Good timming I am looking for a small tiller,to get around plants in the garden.
Cleo Hales says
I think we bought the first Mantis ever made and could certainly use a new one! I can’t live without my Mantis and I think I’ve worn this out. Besides me all my neighbors use it also!

Love getting all your updates, Mike. I joined the Backyard Growers University a while back and my property will NEVER be the same, again!!!! Even looking into excavating a wallapini to grow things year round without having to erect or pay for a fancy greenhouse.
Would really be able to use a tiller like yours. I have an OLD, cumbersome one, A new one would sure come in handy. I’m a single gal in her early 60’s who has now pressed the “reset button” after reading your great website and articles. Looking forward to Spring with a renewed sense of gardening wonder!!
Best to you and yours for a healthy and prosperous 2016!

this thing is a marvel…..I can pick it up with one hand and it’s a workhorse!
Mine was stolen along with a lot of greenhouse equipment and I have mourned its loss ever since.
Love this site and think there isn’t another one anywhere we can go to for such generous advice.
Thanks

Have had a Mantis tiller for about 30 years. Have had to replace the tiller tines one time. Have worked this thing to death. Would love to have a new one. It really is a work horse. My husband and I dug our garden pond using our Mantis. I put our big tiller on Craigslist and sold it. There is nothing this little tiller will not do.
Fran Eriksen says

So, since Hubby and I didn’t play the lottery we weren’t one of those lucky three winners – but how cool it would be to win this. We are learning more and more about gardening in our retirement years and it would be a great help! . And, hey, I would even pay the shipping!!
Mary La Fond says
I’m 82, but still gardening. and would be glad to have some thing to make it easier.
S. White says
I have roughly a quarter acre lot and could find many ways to use the tiller. Already have 4 raised beds and this little beauty would no doubt easily fit inside to work in last years leaves. Also want to work on reviving flower beds and start an in ground garden. A former neighbor had one of these beauties and they loved it. Hope this one comes my way as it really will be used.
Love your emails, Mike. You have fantastic ideas. Am especially intrigued with your propagating ideas.

Judy Nieman says
This little tiller is awesome. We have had one for years and eventually my husband gave it to his mother to use in her flower garden. She is 94 and is able to use it without a problem. It’s great because you can do a small patch or even a larger garden but it is lightweight. Would love to win this because we now have a garden again and really miss it.
Mike says
You’re right Judy, great little machine.
Donna Long says
I’m starting my first vegetable garden in years…I could use this little Baby to help get me started!

Happy Gardening!
