We also have a large selection of grafted Japanese Red Maples including rare and hard-to-find varieties such as Orangeola, Tamukeyama, Fireglow, Shin deshojo, Waterfall, Purple Ghost, and Orange Dream. Grafted Japanese Red Maple varieties do run a bit more due to the grafting which guarantees the cultivar, so they are not included in the $4.97 plant sale.

    Hello,
Im interested in purchasing some plants and trees for my yard from someone near Kansas City. Im in Kansas but could go to Missouri as well. If anyone knows of a nursery near me or is willing to ship the plants and trees, I would appreciate it if you would reply back to me. I have MS and although I am unable to have a nursery due to mobility problems, I would love to purchase from someone who is building thier business this way. I am able to keep up with the ones in my yard but thats about it. We have plenty of land so I have alot of room to plant the things Ive always wanted. Good Luck to all of you and Congratulations for those of you that have your nurseries up and running. My email address is [email protected] . Thanks so much, Michelle

    Denise,
You didn’t put your email address on.
I don’t know what advice I’d have. Maybe start your stock plants so you have sources for cuttings. We planted some 4 yrs. before we wanted to do cuttings, now they have an abundant supply. Emma

Dennis, Did you get a reply? I didn’t see your post before now. Yes, there are some backyard nurseries in SW MO.
[email protected] Mary Kirkwood is in Fairplay, MO.
Danny Turner is in Galena, MO. Don’t have an email address, but can get more info if you’re near there or want to visit him.
[email protected] Phil Cook is in Clever, MO
I think these are all pretty small nurseries yet, but there are more down there, they might remember the others. Emma

Hi Val! I found you on a Mike’s Backyard Nursery e-mail. I live close to Chilhowee and am interested in a bunch of the shrubs you have listed. I would love to come vist your growing site if possible. You name the day and time and I will be there.
Just email me to let me know. With the mild winter we’ve had, I would be able to get these in the ground now!
    Looking forward to meeting you,
    Becky

Hi Becky! Sorry I’m just now seeing this comment since it’s on Mike’s site, I don’t get any alerts that a comment has been left. Also, your email is not listed so I don’t know how to get a hold of you. Darn! Hopefully you’ll see this reply and then you can email me at [email protected]
Looking forward to meeting you also!
