Well, I live in the bottom of the Puget Sound here in the great old Olympia, WA and I have a beautiful mock orange tree that someone mistakenly planted a little too close to the chimney. When is the best time to transplant it and what is the best way to go about it with doing the least amount of damage? I thank you in advance for any advice you may have!

Getting older sucks, I’m on the path, and I remember my elders saying;”youth is wasted on the young”. I now understand that. I am always impressed with those who know how to make flower/shrub beds look like works of art. I need someone like you to advise me on what to plant that can handle full sun.
We built our barn in the middle of a milo field in 2001, the house/home was built 9-2002, I have planted trees around the house far enough away to avoid root damages to basement…but my shrubs are not gaining ground as fast as I would like. Some trees are 9yrs old and they don’t grow fast enough for shade.
Any ideas? I usually can make things grow but his year the heat has burnt most of my plantings. You and I are friends on FB/FT. You can see my place in photos if you wish.
You certainly are correct in how to edge landscaping next to the turf. I use a weed eater edger to trim the edge of the grass after mowing the lawn. It gives it a manicured look and much easier than using a line trimmer that has the tendency to throw the mulch. Keep active and inspired. Thanks.
