Maples N More is a licensed and inspected family nursery located in the Blue Ridge mountains of western North Carolina. We are located within an hour of Asheville, Boone and Johnson City.

Horace and Lisa

Horace and Lisa are Members of Our Backyard Growers Business Center which is why his nursery is being featured here.

Lisa’s dad was in the nursery business so the love of plants came naturally to her. One day six years ago, we were digging daylilies for a friend who wanted to buy some and the idea just came to us that maybe we could make some money at this, as we had lots of plants in our landscape. We started watching Mike McGroarty’s videos and learning about propagation. We have been a member of Mike’s Backyard Growers group since 2014. We started small, growing cuttings in dishpans with trash bags over them. We have grown from that to now having 3 greenhouses. Lisa now works in the nursery full time.

At around the same time, we bought a Crimson Queen Japanese maple for our own landscape. We loved it so much, we started researching them and fell in love with them! The rest is history. We decided that would be our niche market, along with offering other plants. We sell wholesale and retail. We carry a wide variety of grasses, ground covers, evergreens, shrubs, perennials, edibles and trees.

We strive to offer plants that the big box stores and other nurseries may not carry for the best price possible. We propagate many of the items we sell right here at the nursery. We propagate thousands of plants each year by rooted cuttings, grafting and growing seeds in the winter so our inventory is always expanding.

We are in a beautiful area located within an hour drive of two of the most breathtaking places in western NC, Grandfather Mountain and Mount Mitchell. We are close to the Blue Ridge parkway, the Biltmore House and Gardens, waterfalls, hiking, camping, biking, etc. If you are in the area, it would be well worth your time to stop and browse the nursery, then go sight-seeing.

This business is more than a job to us. It’s a passion. You can find us at 232 Blue Branch Road, Burnsville, NC. We are generally open by appointment only. If you have any trouble finding us, all our contact information can be found on our website at http://www.maplesnmore.com, or follow us on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you!
