Ken and Keith Wagner, nursery owners.

Wagner Family Nursery, Slippery Rock PA

The Wagners are Member of Our Backyard Growers Business Center which is why his nursery is being featured here.

A woman owned and a family operated business, Wagner Family Nursery utilizes 2 generations of growers to produce plants for your needs. From perennial flowers and shrubs to ornamentals, evergreens, fruit and nut trees, Grape vines, Blueberries, Raspberries, and more, there’s something for everyone’s landscape.

Who are the growers behind the nursery? A father and son team, Ken (the old guy) and Keith Wagner. To be honest though Ken watches a lot while the youngster does most of the work. Keith found interest in propagating and growing plants at a very young age while helping his grandfather and father with gardening. He enjoyed seeing things grow and realizing the fruits of his labor. Of course he preferred that someone else do the weeding.

Then one day Ken stumbled across Mike McGroarty at freeplants.com. Shared the information with Keith and both realized that if a cheerful older fellow with donkeys can grow and sell plants so to could a father and son team. That was back in 2011. Mikes books were purchased, plants were propagated and 2016 we joined the backyard growers group and launched our nursery endeavor.

We’re located in Butler county Pennsylvania halfway between Slippery Rock and Butler, 45 minutes north of Cranberry and about an hour south of Meadville. Situated on 7 acres most plants are grown here at the nursery which insures they will grow well for local patrons.

Belonging to the backyard growers network, we also have access to plants and growers from around the country to service your needs. We spend a lot of time growing plants, so we do not have actual business hours for retail customers. We do sell by appointments and at several advertised sales each year. You can go to our website http://www.wagnerfamilynursery.com and sign up to be notified of these sales or follow our Facebook page @wagnerfamilynursery.

Wagner Family Nursery

We work our nursery year-round, selling, propagating, tending plants and assisting customers. We propagate thousands of plants each year here in our nursery. We just love plants, and we enjoy helping others grow plants.

What plants you ask? We couldn’t list them all here as we keep adding additional plants to our nursery to give you a wide selection. Check our website for updated offerings. Or better yet, stop on by during one of our advertised sales. Bet you’ll be surprised by the varieties of healthy plants available.
