It’s that time of year when I have to put balls on the Japanese maples that we dug earlier this spring. Actually, putting the ball on them is the easy part. The hard part? Moving them around.
The contraption in this photo is very simple. It’s a piece of 3/4″ treated plywood about 24″ wide and 6 or 8 feet long. I think it’s 8 feet but I didn’t think to check after I took this photo.
Anyway all I did was mount two “D Rings” to the front end of the board and attach a piece of wire rope, or cable with a hook and I pull it behind my four wheeler.
I use this thing for all kinds of things. I have a small generator that is pretty heavy and cumbersome to move around. I just place it on the skid plate and away I go. Anything that is heavy goes on the skid plate!
