Free Mantis Tiller!

Updated : March 3, 2019

So far we’ve given away three Mantis Tiller/Cultivators and we still have one more to give away this year, 2019!

In August of every year we do a big get together for Our Members. People come from all over to attend this annual event. Last year, 2018 our great friends and long time members Mrinali and her husband Bala were finally able to attend. For years Mrinali wanted to get up here from Georgia but Perry, ohio is a long way from Georgia. She finally made it!

At the event I wanted to give away another Mantis Tiller so we held a drawing and Bala won! Here’s a photo of Pam and I with Mrinali and Bala. And their brand new Mantis Tiller/Cultivator. The re-chargeable battery model.

In January of 2018 Pam and I traveled to Georgia to visit with Mrinali, Bala, their son Rohan and many other members of our amazing plant producing family.

Mike, Pam, Mrinali, Bala and many other members including Nathan, Pam Patty, Abby, Greg and James. (I was going to try and name everybody in the photo but I hate to admit that I can’t recall everybody. But you all mean the world to Pam and I

It poured rain all day and we still had a blast!

Hi I joined and paid a lifetime fee back in 2011 or 2012. Have tried in past to get back to your buying plants page and have been unsuccessful. I don’t even remember my password now and I now have more time to devote to planting. Help

    Hi Mike,
I’ve been reading your post for a few years. I’m a very inexperienced gardener and don’t have a lot of space, but moved to Ohio from Massachusetts in late 2017. Last year, I saw your review of the battery powered tiller from Mantis and ordered one for my backyard garden in July. It was invaluable in preparing my little garden last fall. Fertilized and covered for the winter. I only grow enough for the two of us. We are both older people with physical and time, as well as money limitations. Last year I had to plant without properly preparing the ground after purchasing two used tillers that failed without getting it done.completely. I was so looking forward to having a healthy and productive garden this year! This Mantis was to be the saving grace of my veggies. The battery won’t take a charge! I have gone to the Mantis site and sent the info to customer service a couple of times. They continue to send advertising for new products to my e-mail, but have not responded to my request for warranty service. Maybe not such a reliable company? I’m stuck. I have had to undertake a number of large expenses this year and can’t afford to replace. My warranty expires in July and I am beginning to think the company is waiting for that before responding. Since you recommend them, and award them as prizes to your fans, I thought you should be aware.

Also, I love in Sebring Ohio now. I’m not a member of your group, but, I would love to come to your upcoming event. Is that allowed?

Love your articles, they are fun and informative.
    Thanks for being you!

      Betty,

I don’t have their phone number but that’s what you need to do. Find a phone for them and give them a call. If it’s under warranty this should not be an issue.

My daughter and I are starting up a backyard nursery in the Niagara region in southern Ontario Canada. We have 10 acres of busy highway frontage. We would like to become members of the growers groups. Do you accept membership from Canada?

      Peter,

We do and he have a number of active Canadian members, we’re always looking for more Canadians that might be able to sell liners and rooted cuttings to other Canadians. http://backyardgrowers.com/join
