Pennsylvania Backyard Nurseries

Cranesville, PA

Roger’s Backyard Nursery —
We are a small licensed and inspected backyard nursery that propagates and grows perennials and shrubs for your home landscape. We are located in Cranesville, Pennsylvania. We are in the southwestern corner of Erie County, just a little north of the Crawford County line. We are next to Albion and only a short drive from Girard, Meadville, Erie and the western Erie County area. We gladly welcome those from northern Crawford County and eastern Ashtabula County, Ohio.
We do wholesale and retail sales at our location and we are open to the public. Everything is safe for our growing zone of 5b/6a. Just about everything we sell here is only $4.98. All plants and shrubs are grown in our own backyard, not brought in from out of town. We grow flowering shrubs like Weigelas, Spireas, Potentillas, Butterfly Bushes, and more. Willows, Barberries, Forsythias, and Dogwoods are also available here. We have several varieties of Coral Bells as well as many different Hostas, both of which are great for a more shady area in your yard. $4.98 is all it costs for Ornamental Grasses, Euonymus varieties, Arborvitaes and Junipers. Popular ground covers like Angelina and Dragon’s Blood Sedums, Coral Beauty Cotoneaster and Blue Rug Juniper can all be found here for just $4.98. We also grow some native shrubs and perennials such as Cardinal Flower and Viburnums. Many, many more things growing around here, too many to list. Stop in and see for yourself.
Everything is available at our home at 10393 Crane Street, Cranesville, PA., and we can be reached by phone at (814)756-4992 or send an email to [email protected].
We start selling out of our front yard in late April or early May, depending on when the weather starts turning to Spring. We are open until late June most days and are more than willing to help answer any of your plant and planting questions.

Hello all. I live in Colorado and have been trying to buy a Pelargonium L’Elegante (Variegated Ivy Geranium, leathery leaf). Many of the great nurseries have closed here so I am not having much success. Anyone carry this Geranium and if so would be interested in shipping to me? Thanks for a response. Rebecca

    Hey Mike,
I received my red japanese maples on 2/15/2015. Finally got them all planted. Should I still go ahead and prune the tops out like I saw in the video? If yes can I go ahead and root what I prune off. Just trying to learn.
    Thanks,
    Thomas

      Thomas,

No, don’t prune them. At the end of the season you can prune the tips a little if they are out of balance, but for the most part I no longer prune my like that unless they are extremely tall and hooping over.
