ADVANCED NURSERY GROWERS, DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FLORIDA.

Some time ago, In the panhandle of Florida, on a little piece of paradise, my husband, Howard and I started a small family business centered around our love for plants.

Howard is a Member of Our Backyard Growers Business Center which is why his nursery is being featured here.

Today, we are two old and happy plant growers who owe a piece of our joy to retail nurseries like yours that have really become an extension of our family. We love what we do. We are a propagation nursery growing wholesale and retail starter plants right here in our backyard in Defuniak Springs, Florida. We grow most of our plants in Rootmaker®pots because we believe a healthy root gives our plants the best possible start, and ensures a long, happy and healthy plant life in their new home at your nursery.

What plants do you need?
We have beautiful crapemyrtles – both patented and non-patented varieties. My personal favorite is the non-patented ebony flame that blooms bright red flowers alongside midnight purple leaves. These make for some of the most wonderful plants in any yard. If you doubt me, you should see them for yourself. We have several different kinds of loropetalums, lantanas, milkweeds, blue daze, mexican heathers, roses, ornamental grasses, loquats, elderberrys, blackberries, blueberries, muscadine grapes, sawooth oaks, sawtooth gobbler oaks, dwarf nandinas, dwarf azaleas, butterfly plants, american persimmons and several other liners; many of our liners will be ready in the spring.

Hardwood cuttings just starting to make leaves and roots.

If there is a specific plant you need, we will look into growing them for you.
Unlike a lot of other gardeners, we have no minimum order, which works perfectly if you wish to purchase retail or if you wish to purchase wholesale. You can also purchase on our website, Advanced Nursery Growers, our prices are quite good, and we offer a discount when you purchase in bulk.

The Nursery Area.

Every now and then, we run a sale, and during our peak seasons in the spring through fall, we take appointments, so you can view whatever plant you are interested in, before making the decision to bring them into your home.
If you’re in the area, you really should make the drive to come out and see us; you will be fascinated by the unique selection of plants we grow. We are conveniently located just south of 1-10 Ponce DeLeon off Exit 96, and you will make only 4 turns to get to our place. Simply go South on Highway 81, turn right onto CB Whitehead Road, right again onto Douglass Cross Road, left onto McLeod Road, and ours will be the second place on the right.

Our exact address is 1911 Mcleod Road, Defuniak Springs. FL. 32435.

Howard and I absolutely love when you visit us, because then you get to see where the plants come from, and you get to watch them grow right here in the peaceful solitude of our farm. I always say that our customers are the heart of this family business. We are grateful to everyone who has extended their nursery to our plants, and we look forward to meeting even more gardeners along the way.

If you get stuck trying to find us, just visit our website at http://www.advancednurserygrowers.com which has all of our contact information, and more details on how to purchase from us. We also have an active facebook community of plant lovers, and oftentimes, will feature the plants we are currently swooning over, so be sure to check out our facebook so you will know when we run a sale as well.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mike McGroarty’s Backyard Group. We have been members since August of 2018, and have benefited from all of Mikes advice and numerous tips on just about every aspect of starting your own plant business.

The community is welcoming and supportive as well, and is a great environment for small plant business owners, to collaborate and thrive individually as well as, as a collective. All the members we’ve had the pleasure of interacting with have been so kind and generous with information on plant growing.

This wonderful community of people, that Mike brought together share our love for plants, and have really become like family, so we say thank you Mike!

Hope to see you soon, Howard and Beverly!

hello, I am looking for a couple different things. I do live in DeFuniak Springs, so it is local. Do y’all sell seeds of any sort or just rooted plants? I grew up on a farm in the Mid West and we planted everything , harvested, and canned everything, my mind takes me to Do has no soil. It’s all sand. I know Ag. I know FFA and germiniating, cultivating, some graphing and some crossbreeding . My whole family does this just not here . So part if what I’m asking is will I be able to grow a garden outdoors? I know I can grow anything indoors or green house. Also if possible and I can grow a producing garden there are some particular things I’ll be looking for besides the few things today. I’m looking to germinate but I’ll take rooted on a few items. I’m looking for a mimosas tree, a purple velvet Gynura Aurantiaca preferably seeds or starts, some morel mushroom spores, some valarian , beefsteak tomatoes, some sweet WHITE corn (pink seeds) they seem feed corn here for corn on the cob lol. Some black, blue, and strawberry roots. Seedless watermelon seeds lol. Some low acid beefsteak orange tomatoes , and some burpless cucc’s. If you have time to read this and reply to me I would be greatly appreciated to you . I’ve fell ill and need to get back to healthier foods to help me sustain a bit longer than what’s expected and I’m confident this is the key to that.
    Thank you very much
    Tracie

My wife saw something on Facebook that you, we think, had Tree of Life plants, but we can’t find a contact phone, website, or address. How do panhandle residents place orders with you…

    Thanks,
