First, I would like to thank Mike McGroaty and his family for inspiring me and many others that love growing plants to learn how to do more, through educating others about growing and propagation techniques to building your own Backyard Nursery.

About Thompson Growers.

Thompson Growers is a South Carolina licensed and inspected plant nursery located in Westminster. Our family owned and operated nursery has been growing, testing for our zone, and selling all kinds of plants here since 2011.

We sell by appointment and hold scheduled sales several times a year.
You can get informed of “Plant Availability” and “Sales Dates” by following Thompson Growers on Facebook or by requesting email notifications at [email protected] (I will never use your email for anything else)
Our mission is to bring you the best potted nursery garden plants, shrubs and trees that thrive in our southern climate to provide food, health, beauty and enjoyment.

Where We Sell

Thompson Growers Featured in the Seneca Journal Newpaper

We love getting involved with our community, as you can see in the photo taken by the Seneca Journal newspaper in April 2018. My husband, Joel and I were setting up on Main Street in Westminster for the “123 Multi Mile Yard Sale” (check them out on Facebook). We have continued participating in this large and growing yard sale each year since.

We have also sold plants at the Heritage Market and “Route 11 Flea Market” in Westminster, SC., “Pickens County, SC Flea Markets”, the Depot Market in Seneca, SC and the City of Clemson, SC.

Whether you see us at a community market or come to the nursery during a scheduled sale or make an appointment to shop with us, we will help you find what you are looking for. Our very knowledgeable staff will also inform you about the needs of the plants you buy.

Do you ever come to clients homes to make suggestions on what shrubs would work there or suggest ideas for landscaping? I’m not interested in a landscape design plan just some ideas.

Good for you Donna. Your plants look really good to excellent. I love to see women get a site to grow and sell. I have been selling plants right out of my garden for years. I need to plant some seeds to get growing so I can replace the ones I have sold.

      Thanks Gail,

I enjoy growing plants so much that it seemed to be the natural next step from what I grew for myself and all the extras I donated and sold.. We have more land now, so, I grow more plants.
